Global Civilization Initiative International Youth Talk Opens in Beijing
On Dec 11, the Global Civilization Initiative International Youth Talk and the New Year Concert for International Youth were held in Beijing.
The events, which had the theme "Civilizations in Harmony, Youth in Symphony," were jointly organized by the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) and the China Coal Mine Art Troupe. Diplomats from embassies in China representing countries including the United States, the Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Fiji, Peru, Kazakhstan, Iran and Algeria attended the event, along with representatives from international organizations such as the SCO, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Office for Project Services, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the China-ASEAN Centre.
Also present were former Chinese ambassadors, representatives of foreign chambers of commerce in China, Chinese industry associations, multinational companies, Chinese and foreign young entrepreneurs as well as international students in China were also present. In all, more than 370 people from over 50 countries and regions took part in the event.
During the event, three groups of young Chinese and international representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on cultural innovation, artistic integration and cooperative development, offering vivid examples of how young people implement mutual learning among civilizations.
Two young representatives from China and Peru, under the theme of "From Eastern Stories to the World Stage", explored how to activate traditional narratives through modern media. They agreed that cultural communication is not merely a matter of technological presentation, but also must be grounded in understanding, empathy and mutual respect.

Young participants from China and the US presented a cross-Pacific musical dialogue under the theme "From National Tones to Global Resonance." A musician from the China National Traditional Orchestra and an US international student at Capital Medical University jointly improvised the song Blue and White Porcelain, using morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) and guitar,
From musical instruments to civilizations, this wordless performance, which was enthusiastically applauded by the audience, interpreted how different civilizations illuminate each other in exchanges and understand each other in resonance. The performance made the beautiful vision of "harmony in diversity" tangible.

Under the theme of "From Industry-Education Integration to Global Innovation" and focusing on digital technology and educational cooperation, representatives from a Chinese technology enterprise and the China-Pakistan International Industrial Academic Integration Alliance, discussed digital technology and educational cooperation and the practical paths and achievements of strengthening international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation and building a community for youth development.
The New Year Concert for International Youth that followed presented the rich diversity of traditional Chinese music, highlighting the profound cultural heritage and spiritual values of Chinese civilization. Many international participants said that the event not only allowed them to experience the enduring charm of traditional Chinese music, but also enabled them to feel the unifying power of art that transcends national boundaries in an atmosphere of peace and friendship. They expressed their willingness to transform the resonance and inspiration gained from the event into actions for cross-cultural collaboration and co-creating a better world in the future.
The Global Civilization Initiative International Youth Talk is a vivid practice to enhance mutual understanding and trust among young people from various countries and promote people-to-people bonds.
