China-Mongolia Youth Cultural Exchange held in Beijing

On May 13, the International Youth Talk on Global Civilization Initiative – China-Mongolia Youth Cultural Exchange was held in Beijing under the theme "Together in Youth, Advancing Hand in Hand".

Jointly hosted by the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, the youth exchange event was organized by the China International Youth Exchange Center, attracting around 200 young people from both China and Mongolia.

Attendees included Ya. Sodbaatar, General Secretary of the Mongolian People's Party; Xu Xiao, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China; Zhao Shitong, Assistant-Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee; and B. Purevdagva, President of Mongolian Youth Social Democratic.

In his speech, Xu emphasized the importance of China and Mongolia strengthening dialogue and cooperation in advancing towards modernization for the peace, stability and prosperity of Asia and the world. He called on young people from both countries to become dedicated practitioners of cultural preservation and heritage, proactive leaders in cultural innovation, and strong promoters of cultural exchange and cooperation.

Zhao highlighted the strong bond between China and Mongolia as friendly neighbors, reliable partners and close friends who support each other in seeking mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. He also emphasized the importance of youth exchange in fostering enduring inter-party relations, expressing optimism for enhanced collaboration between the youth organizations of both nations.

Purevdagva highlighted the long-standing friendship between Mongolia and China, noting that the younger generation bears the historic responsibility of advancing bilateral relations. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts, youth from both countries would strongly promote regional peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

The Communist Youth League of China and the Social Democratic Mongolian Youth League signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation during the event.

Purevdagva presented Xu with a replica of a flag that Chinese youth delegates had given to their Mongolian counterparts at the Congress of the Revolutionary Youth League of Mongolia in 1956. The original flag bears the Chinese inscription that means "united, we safeguard world peace."

In the youth dialogue session, young representatives from China and Mongolia held in-depth discussions on topics such as "traditional culture and innovation", "people-to-people exchange and 'the Belt and Road Initiative'," and "technological innovation and artificial intelligence (AI)".

Vice-presidents of the Mongolian Youth Social Democratic emphasized the importance of creatively revitalizing traditional culture, deepening youth cooperation under the Belt and Road framework, and promoting people-to-people ties. They expressed willingness to collaborate with China in promoting AI that is people-centered and oriented toward the common good.

During the event, young people from both countries sang and danced together, celebrating cultural diversity and shared friendship. An AI experience zone was also set up, where Mongolian youth representatives explored China's achievements in AI through interactive displays.

The event was carried out under the International Youth Talk on Global Civilization Initiative, which was designed to foster mutual understanding and trust among youth from different countries through civilizational dialogue and cultural experiences, enhance people-to-people connectivity, advance mutual learning among civilizations, and contribute to the common development of young people worldwide.
