Indian Young Leaders Training Program Held in Beijing and Tianjin
From March 24 to 31, the Indian Young Leaders Training Program, hosted by the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) and organized by the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) and Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU), was held in Beijing and Tianjin. Ten young Indian delegates from diverse sectors, selected by the Confederation of Young Leaders, participated in the program.
Shapkat Wushur, Vice-President of the ACYF, met with the delegation during their stay in Beijing. In the Beijing part, the delegation visited the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, the Shuangjing Subdistrict Community Youth Club and Dongbai Street Community in Chaoyang District, China Huadian Engineering Co, the International Youth University, and leading new energy enterprises. Through themed lectures, roundtable discussions, field visits, and cultural experience activities, the training program focused on sustainable development, artificial intelligence, scientific and technological innovation, and cultural heritage and innovation, fostering a shared vision for collaboration and friendship.
"Youth are pivotal in fostering people-people connections. We hope to deepen mutual understanding of our histories and cultures through academic exchanges and educational cooperation, further strengthening mutual trust among our people," said Anju Yadav, Head of Indian delegation.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and India, the China-India Youth Roundtable Conference was successfully held at the Communication University of China on March 26. The conference featured in-depth discussions on bilateral relations, pragmatic collaboration, and mutual learning between civilizations.
Regarding pragmatic collaboration, Aditya Sharma, one delegate of the program, said that China has achieved remarkable development in a short span, adding that "as members of BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, India and China should enhance cooperation in economic, manufacturing, and technological sectors to jointly drive high-quality development and elevate Asia's global influence."
The delegation visited TFSU, Tianjin Port and iFLYTEK, among others, during their stay in Tianjin. These visits showcased the theoretical foundation and achievements of Chinese modernization, development opportunities arising from its high-standard opening-up, and the innovation and vitality of its cultural industries.
Himanshu Mahor, one of the delegates, said China-India youth cultural diplomacy can strengthen cultural bonds, inject creativity and vitality into opening new frontiers for collaboration and build trust, foster friendships to lay the foundation for a harmonious future.
The program is part of the Global South Young Leaders Initiative. The delegates agreed that the diverse activities enhanced their comprehensive understanding on China, ignited their enthusiasm for bilateral cooperation, and inspired them to contribute to the healthy and stable development of India-China relations in their respective fields upon returning home.
Dong Xia and Liu Kai, Deputy Secretary-Generals of the ACYF, as well as Liu Aiping, Chairwoman of the Governing Council of the CIYEC, and Chen Peng and Li Tianguo, Deputy Directors of the CIYEC, attended related events.
