China-India Youth Roundtable Conference held in Beijing

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India, the China-India Youth Roundtable Conference, hosted by the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) and organized by the Communication University of China (CUC) and the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), was held at the CUC in Beijing on March 26.

Under the theme "Youth Working Together for a Healthy and Dynamic China-India Partnership", the conference brought together approximately 70 participants, including delegates from the Indian Young Leaders Training Program, faculty and student representatives from the CUC, as well as Chinese youth scholars and entrepreneurs, for discussions on China-India relations, pragmatic cooperation, and mutual learning among civilizations.

Dong Xia, Deputy Secretary-General of the ACYF, said that China and India, as two major countries of the Global South, achieving "A cooperation pas de deux of the dragon and the elephant" aligns not only with the interests of both countries but also injects vitality into regional and global prosperity and stability. She emphasized that youth, representing the future of both countries, shall uphold the tradition of friendship, foster mutual understanding, build bridges of cooperation, and collaborate for common development through mutual learning.

Anju Yadav, head of the Indian delegation and senior administrator of departmental activities of G.D. Goenka Public School, noted that as nations with a historic mission to shape global leadership in the 21st century, China and India should set an example for the world through friendship, dialogue and cooperation. She underscored the critical role of the China-India partnership in global peace, stability and development, expressing the hope that youth from both countries should work together to create a future marked by deepened collaboration, strengthened bonds, and shared aspirations.

CUC Vice-President Yang Yi called on youth from both countries to join hands to build bilateral relations, contribute to long-satnding friendship and promote cultural exchanges. The 75th anniversary shall serve as a new starting point for deepening mutual trust and understanding to inject youthful energy into advancing China-India friendship and cooperation.

To promote youth exchanges, the China-India Young Leaders Training Program, jointly organized by the ACYF and the Confederation of Young Leaders, was held from March 24 to 31 in Beijing and Tianjin. During their stay in Beijing, Shapkat Wushur, Vice-President of the ACYF, met with the delegates. The delegation visited the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), community youth club of Shuangjing Subdistrict and Dongbai Street Community in Chaoyang District, China Huadian Engineering Co, and Xiaomi Auto Super Factory.

They will also visit Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Tianjin Port, iFLYTEK, and Tianjin Rail Transit to experience China's traditional culture and youth community initiatives firsthand.
