The World Shares the Joy of Spring Festival---CIYEC Plays Host to The 2025 Chinese New Year Carnival
On Jan 17, China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) held the 17th MaizidianSubdistrict Chinese and Foreign Residents' New Year Celebration2025 and 2025 CIYEC Chinese New Year Carnival at the 21st Century Hotel in Beijing.
The event was attended by Liu Aiping,Chairman of Governing Council of CIYEC; Chen Peng, Deputy Director of CIYEC; Fan Yonghong, Deputy Party Secretary of the Chaoyang district, as well as representatives from relevant departments of Chaoyang district, Maizidian subdistrict working committee, enterprises, and schools in the subdistrict. Diplomats from over 30 countries, guests from foreign organizations in China and international students also presented.
The event featured 15 interactive zones showcasing Chinese intangible cultural heritage. Activities such as guzheng(Chinese Zither) performance, Peking opera, couplets writing, delicacies enjoying, Hanfu experiencing and clay sculpture enabled them to know more about Chinese culture and Chinese spirits.
Arlindo do Rosário, Cape Verde’s Ambassador, extended his Spring Festival greetings to theChinese youths throughthe event. “Cape Verde and China has been constantly renewing friendship. This event will serve as a starting point to promote exchanges and cooperation among youths from both countries.”
Joao Batista Magalhaes, Minister-Counselor of the Brazilian Embassy in China, said he was delighted to join people from around the worldat the Spring Festival Carnival. He expressed the hope that CIYEC can give full display to its role as a cultural exchange platform, so as to deepen friendship among youths from China, Brazil as well as other Global South countries.
Kim Jin-gon, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK)in China and Director of the Korean Cultural Center in China, saidthat the ROK and China have a long history of friendship. With constant cooperation for mutual benefits, youths from both countries will have more opportunities for exchanges and contribute their efforts into promoting a better bilateral relationship.
