Liu Aiping, Chairwoman of the Governing Council of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with a delegation led by Ling Tian Soon, Vice-President of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and Chief of MCA Youth, in Beijing on Jan 3.

Liu warmly welcomed Ling and his delegation and provided a brief overview of the CIYEC's efforts in fostering international youth exchanges between China and other countries. She said that, in recent years, the CIYEC has fully leveraged its role as a window for international exchanges under the All-China Youth Federation, engaging in fruitful and practical cooperation with the MCA in areas such as economy and trade, and culture.

Liu further elaborated on the CIYEC's ongoing planning and project development aimed at establishing itself as a hub for attracting international young talents. This initiative, she noted, will offer more opportunities for bilateral youth exchanges and cooperation, including those between China and Malaysia.

Liu said the CIYEC is willing to work closely with the Malaysian side to enhance communication, deepen cooperation, diversify forms of exchanges, and nurture new growth areas for cooperation, thereby continuously injecting new impetus and momentum into the development of China-Malaysia relations.

Ling lauded the CIYEC's proactive efforts in promoting youth exchanges between Malaysia and China, as well as on the international stage, and emphasized that the MCA has always valued exchanges and cooperation with China. He acknowledged the strengthened communication and increasingly close people-to-people exchanges between both sides in recent years, highlighting the mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes achieved through collaborative efforts.

Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the MCA Youth, Ling said he hoped to receive continuous support from the Chinese side to facilitate in-depth dialogue between the youth of both countries in areas such as cultural innovation, joint contribution to social development, and youth leadership. He called for further deepening cooperation, expanding cooperation fields, and achieving more substantial cooperation outcomes in a bid to deepen and substantiate the building of a Malaysia-China community with a shared future.

Chen Peng, Deputy Director, head of the Exchange and Cooperation Department of the CIYEC, Chong Yew Chuan, Deputy Chief of the MCA Youth, and other representatives from both sides attended the meeting. The Malaysian delegation also toured relevant facilities at the CIYEC.
