IAYEA 2024 Work Meeting and Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable Held in Beijing
The International Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs Association (IAYEA) 2024 Work Meeting and Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable, organized by the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) and the IAYEA, took place in Beijing from Dec 5 to 6.
Xu Xiao, President of the All-China Youth Federation, addressed the opening ceremony, where he highlighted IAYEA's efforts in promoting the development of an open global economy and its growing regional representation since its establishment. He encouraged IAYEA members and young entrepreneurs to remain committed to openness and inclusiveness, becoming advocates of an open world economy; to embrace win-win cooperation, becoming drivers of economic globalization; and to pursue innovation-driven growth, contributing to global economic progress. He emphasized their role in advancing a multi-polar world order marked by equality and inclusiveness, achieving sustainable globalization, and expediting the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Deborah Botterau, President of IAYEA Executive Committee and Secretary General of ASEAN Young Entrepreneurs Council, noted that the IAYEA is dedicated to fostering sustainable economic growth worldwide and building an open global economy. She underscored its commitment to creating new platforms for international cooperation among young entrepreneurs. Moving forward, the IAYEA plans to enhance member participation and dialogue through multilateral exchange meetings, business matchmaking events, and the establishment of an international project cooperation database.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Ji Lin, Director of the Trade Promotion Center at ICC China; William Zarit, Chairman of the Global Investment Council and Chairman Emeritus of AmCham China; Lu Gang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Lianyungang Municipal Committee; and Yan Rui, Board Member and Secretary General of the Europe-Asia Center. The participants discussed four key topics: green development, trade prosperity, industrial and supply chain collaboration, and marine industry cooperation. Broad consensus was reached, with participants recognizing the challenges posed by a new era of global turbulence and transformation, as well as the headwinds facing economic globalization. They agreed that the meeting as a timely opportunity for young entrepreneurs to collaborate and create win-win solutions. Leveraging the IAYEA platform, participants expressed their commitment to practicing genuine multilateralism and contributing to global economic development, social progress, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Parallel sessions of the International Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs Association 2024 Work Meeting and Economic and Trade Cooperation Roundtable are held.
During the meeting, the Action Initiative for Global South Youth Entrepreneurs was released, calling on young entrepreneurs worldwide to drive green development, promote trade liberalization and facilitation, ensure the stability and smooth operation of global industrial and supply chains, and protect marine resources while advancing the marine economy.

On the sidelines of the meeting, participants also visited enterprises in Beijing's Chaoyang District and attended the International Young Entrepreneurs Business Meeting. The activities attracted nearly 100 participants, including members of the IAYEA Executive Committee, young entrepreneurs from over 20 countries and regions, representatives from foreign embassies and chambers of commerce in China, universities, and international and regional organizations.
Liu Aiping, Chairwoman of the Governing Council of the CIYEC, and Chen Peng, Deputy Director of the CIYEC, attended the events, along with IAYEA members and other distinguished guests.
