Inaugural 'Silver Olive' Tennis Tournament Held
The inaugural "Silver Olive" Cup tennis tournament, hosted by the Silver Olive Sports World of China International Youth Exchange Center, was held on Nov 23.
The friendly event attracted teams from China, the United States, France, Russia, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, with a total of 70 participants from home and abroad.
Under the theme of “Tennis for Health”, the tournament aimed to promote communication among youth from different countries.
The Olympic spirit represents not only "faster, higher, stronger," but also a spirit of unity, friendship, and fair competition, said Sun Tong, a representative for the Chinese players. Sports provide a platform for youth to foster cultural and spiritual exchanges between countries, where the young people can gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of other cultures, show mutual respect during competition, and strengthen international friendships, he added.
Qiao Sanli, speaking on behalf of the foreign players at the tournament, thanked the organizers for providing a platform for youth from different countries to connect, share experiences and befriend each other. He said he hoped that all participants would benefit from the experience.
The Silver Olive Sports World intends to host similar events, expanding international youth exchange platforms and invigorating sports culture.
