2024 SCO Youth Campus Explores Future Development
The 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Campus, hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and organized by the China International Youth Exchange Center, took place from Nov 3 to 10.
The Campus was hosted in Beijing, Xiong'an New Area in Hebei Province, and Qingdao in East China's Shandong Province.

During the program, young leaders from SCO member states, including Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia, visited Xiong'an New Area, where they gained insights into the overall planning of the city, as well as explored its culture and history.
During their stay in Qingdao, delegates participated in various activities, including the 2024 SCO Youth Development Forum, the International Youth Pop Culture Carnival, and the specialized conference of the SCO Youth Council. They also engaged in field trips and seminars focused on future economies including future agriculture, high-end manufacturing, network technology, fisheries, green industries, as well as shipping and logistics.
At the 2024 SCO Youth Development Forum themed "Future Work - Cultivate and Develop New Driving Forces and New Skills", young delegates from SCO member states and observer states exchanged experiences, built consensus, and discussed youth development. They expressed gratitude for the platform provided by the SCO Youth Campus, which offered them an opportunity to visit China, engage in dialogues with peers from various countries, and witness the country's development. They said they hoped to strengthen cooperation and exchange with China across wider fields in the future, and jointly promote development and progress for all parties involved.
After visiting Xiong'an, Mekhroj Rashidov, Director of the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Center of Uzbekistan, commended the city's highly efficient and economical management model, saying he will maintain close contact with relevant parties to introduce the management model of Xiong'an to Uzbekistan.
While observing the Fuxing high-speed train, Tatiana Seliverstova, Chairman of the Board of ANO "Leaders of International Cooperation" acknowledged China's leading role in high-speed rail mileage and its utilization of cutting-edge technology in train manufacturing. She regarded China as a valuable reference and learning source for Russia and other SCO member states in many aspects.
Muhaysin Ali Philpoto from Pakistan was deeply impressed by the automated container terminal in Qingdao and lauded China's remarkable achievements in automation technology. He said that automation technology plays a vital role in enhancing productivity and reducing costs, adding that he hoped Pakistan could learn from China's successful experience to achieve rapid development.

The SCO Youth Campus is flagship youth program under the SCO framework first held in 2016. The program serves as an important platform for young people from SCO countries to enhance friendship, achieve common development, and build a closer SCO community with a shared future.
