“We are thrilled to be in China," said American youth Unico Clemente, noting that the cultural atmosphere in China and the passion for street dance are truly inspiring. Chinese street dance youth are vibrant and creative, each dancer driven by a profound love and dedication to the art, he said. "We eagerly look forward to exchanging ideas with and learning new techniques from them, and we hope to bring our own dance philosophies and styles to this land, creating a fusion that sparks new inspirations,” he added.
“The dancers in China, especially the young ones, are incredibly talented,” said Johnathan Augustine Lawrence, a member of the duo who won the Freestyle 2V2 championship. "We hadn't paid much attention to the street dance scene in China before, but this visit has been eye-opening. I've connected with many Chinese dancers on WeChat, and I hope to have more opportunities to come to China in the future to exchange with and learn from them. We believe that Chinese street dance will shine even more brightly on the global stage in the future."

The participating street dancers expressed a deep interest in Chinese history and culture. They noted that the exchange camp not only showcased the vibrancy and passion of street dance but also highlighted the inclusiveness and profoundness of Chinese culture. The dancers felt that using street dance as a bridge the event facilitated cross-cultural communication and integration, blending Eastern and Western cultures.
The camp is part of the 'Bridge of the Future' China-U.S. Youth Exchange Program, jointly organized by the All-China Youth Federation and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. It is also a key component of the series of events in the International Youth Pop Culture Season hosted by the CIYEC. The culture season aims to create a platform for cultural exchanges through various trendy cultural forms such as anime, street dance, trendy toys, markets, and flash mobs, fostering creativity, promoting innovation, deepening friendships, and encouraging cooperation.
