CIYEC Director Meets with CBBC Chair

Zhang Hua, Director of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chair of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), on May 17.

Zhang congratulated the CBBC on its 70th anniversary, noting that the council has long been dedicated to promoting China-UK trade cooperation and played a significant role in advancing the development of China-UK relations. He said that the CIYEC is ready to strengthen cooperation with the CBBC in areas such as digital technology, creative industries and enterprise internship for international students in China, contributing to the building of stable and mutually beneficial China-UK relations.

Cowper-Coles said that youth are the future and an important force in promoting UK-China relations, giving positive remarks on such projects as enterprise internship for international students in China. He expressed the willingness to work with the CIYEC to continuously promote youth exchanges between the two countries and deepen practical cooperation in creative design, software development, and digital technology, injecting new impetus into UK-China relations.

Peter Burnett, CEO-designate of the CBBC; Tom Simpson, Managing Director of China Operations & Chief China Representative; and Xin Pengda, Head of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIYEC, also attended the meeting. The guests also visited the National Data Bureau of China, accompanied by heads of relevant departments of the CIYEC, prior to the meeting.
