Japanese Youth Delegation Visits CIYEC

Zhang Hua, Director of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with a delegation of Japan China Youth Economic and Cultural Exchange Association led by its founding consultant Kurita Hideko on Aug 11.

Zhang welcomed Kurita’s visit on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the China-Japan Treaty of Peace and Friendship, and spoke positively of the association for its effort in promoting communication and cooperation between the two sides.

Noting that the CIYEC and the China-Japan Youth Exchange Center has been dedicated to promoting youth exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan, Zhang said he expected that the two sides would strengthen mutually-beneficial cooperation, enhance mutual trust among youth, and devote to the building of the China-Japan relationship that is in line with the requirements of the new era, in a bid to promote the prosperity and stability of the region and the world.

Kurita introduced the recent development of the association, saying that now is a critical moment for improving the Japan-China relationship.

She expressed the hope to work with the CIYEC to actively promote the sound development of youth exchanges between the two countries, and jointly create opportunities for practical cooperation, strengthen communication and cooperation in economy and trade and people-to-people exchanges, infuse new connotation to youth exchanges in the new era, and deepen the development of the Japan-China youth friendship cause.

Chen Peng, Deputy Director of the CIYEC, and the head of the Public Service and Cooperation Department of the CIYEC also attended the meeting.
