Young Diplomats from Developing Countries Visit CIYEC

The China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) held a symposium in Beijing on July 28 with participants of the Seminar on Chinese Language and Culture for Diplomatic Officials of Developing Countries.

Chen Peng, Deputy Director of the CIYEC, extended a warm welcome and gave a brief introduction about the center. Noting that the CIYEC is committed to enhancing friendships between Chinese and foreign youth, and fostering practical cooperation among young people from different countries, Chen said that the CIYEC is willing to work with other developing countries to strengthen communication in such areas as economy, trade and culture, achieving win-win cooperation. 

Hannatu Karau, Desk Officer (China) of the Asia and Pacific Department of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the international cooperation platform for young entrepreneurs established by the CIYEC is a concrete measure to promote youth development. She expressed her hope that youth organizations from both sides could collaborate closely to contribute to the sustainable development of the global economy.

Ayad Mohamed, a second-level official from the Human Resources Department of the Foreign Ministry of Morocco, said that he hopes to leverage this visit to promote comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between the youth of Morocco and China in such areas as economy and culture, continuously enriching the strategic partnership between the two countries.

A total of 34 young diplomats from 14 countries including Uzbekistan, Nigeria, and Uruguay, as well as the head of the Economical Cooperation Department of the CIYEC, participated in the event and visited the Century Theater.
