Zhang Hua, Director of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with Wong Siaw Ting, Chairman of Malaysian Chinese Association Youth Central Committee, on June 27.

Zhang briefed Wong on basic information about the CIYEC. He said that the committee is an important partner of the CIYEC, and the two sides have supported each other, cooperated closely and achieved fruitful results.

Zhang expressed his hope that the two sides would enhance communication and deepen cooperation to continuously improve exchanges and cooperation of youths and actively promote the sound development of the relations between China and Malaysia.

Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia, and that next year is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries, Wong said that he hopes the committee and the CIYEC could take this opportunity to leverage each other’s advantages to promote cooperation between Malaysian and Chinese youths in science and technology, economy and trade, and people-to-people exchanges, in a bid to contribute to the development of Malaysia-China relations as well as regional stability and prosperity.

Lim Wen Jye, Chairperson of Malaysian Cultural Creativity and Education Association, and Wang Lu, Director of the Administration Office of the CIYEC, attended the meeting.
