CIYEC Director Meets with Economic Counsellor of Embassy of Japan in China

Zhang Hua, Director of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with Kawabuchi Hideo, Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in China, on May 23. 

Zhang first thanked the embassy for its support for the International Cooperation and Development Conference for Young Entrepreneurs. He said that the CIYEC, as an important platform for China-Japan youth exchanges, has always attached great importance to exchanges with Japanese youth. Particularly in recent years, the CIYEC has actively promoted economic and trade cooperation between young entrepreneurs of the two countries and yielded good results.

Zhang said he hopes, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and the People's Republic of China and with the support of the Embassy of Japan in China, the channels for economic and trade cooperation between Chinese and Japanese youths would be continuously expanded and their practical cooperation would reach to a higher level.  

Kawabuchi noted that people-to-people exchanges, including youth exchanges, play an important role in promoting the sound and stable development of Sino-Japanese relations. He expressed the hope that the two sides would work together to organize economic and trade exchange activities for Chinese and Japanese young entrepreneurs to promote entrepreneurs’ cooperation in cross-border industrial chains, and conduct dialogues and exchanges in the field of think tanks, in a bid to inject new impetus into deepening economic and trade cooperation.

Heads of the Economical Cooperation Department and the International Students Department of the CIYEC, as well as representatives from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Beijing, also attended the meeting.
