Zhang Hua, Director of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC), met with Minister Counsellor Jisoo Lee and Political Councilor Kim Young-joo of the South Korean Embassy in China, on March 13. The two sides exchanged views on deepening youth exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea.

Zhang introduced the CIYEC and said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties over the past 30 years, with the support of the South Korean Embassy in China, the two sides have launched a series of youth exchange activities, and fruitful results have been achieved in the fields of economy, culture, education, science and technology.

He noted that the CIYEC always attaches importance to consolidating and developing youth exchanges with South Korea, and hopes that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation, building a platform for youth exchanges and cooperation and making new contributions to the healthy and stable development of China-South Korea relations.

Lee highly commended the contributions made by the CIYEC in expanding youth exchanges between China and South Korea. He hoped that the two sides will further strengthen communication and enhance mutual trust, promote cooperation between young scientists and entrepreneurs from the two countries in ICT, quantum science, 6G, carbon neutrality and other fields, and strive to promote the in-depth development of exchanges and cooperation between young and middle-aged Korean and Chinese people.
