CIYEC Welcomes Counselor of Embassy of Japan in China

Kawase Taro, Counselor of the Economic Department at the Embassy of Japan in China, visited the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) on Feb 10 and exchanged views on deepening economic cooperation of young people between China and Japan.

Zhang Hua, director of the CIYEC, congratulated Kawase on his new role as counselor and said that the CIYEC has long been committed to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Japanese youths.

Zhang also said he hopes that the exchanges between the two countries will continue to develop with the support of the Embassy of Japan in China. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the conclusion of the Sino-Japanese Treaty of Peace and Friendship and the two countries are making more efforts to deepen the China-Japan youth economic and trade cooperation.

Kawase noted that the CIYEC has played an important role in expanding exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and hoped that the two sides will further enhance exchanges, especially in areas such as the digital economy, green development and elderly care services, and work together to build Japan-China relations in the new era.

Ote Shintaro and Shinichi Sakuraialso, representatives from the Embassy of Japan in China, attended the meeting.
