JCEA Beijing Representative Visits CIYEC

Yoshiko Ito, Deputy Director of the Beijing Office of the Japan-China Economic Association (JCEA), visited the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) on July 4. The two sides discussed the promotion of economic and trade cooperation between the young people of the two countries.

Deputy Director of the CIYEC Zhang Hua first congratulated the JCEA on its 50th anniversary. He noted the long-term efforts made by the JCEA to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation and enhance China-Japan friendship, which have contributed to bridging practical cooperation between the youth of the two countries.

Zhang briefed the delegation about the development of the CIYEC. He said that the CIYEC has launched a variety of youth exchange projects between China and Japan since its establishment and taken an active part in enhancing mutual trust and cooperation between the youth of the two countries.

Zhang also indicated that the two sides should seize the important opportunities presented by the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations to maintain, consolidate and develop cooperative relations, and further build China-Japan relations to ensure they meet the requirements of the new era.

Yoshiko said that the youth is of great significance in ensuring that state-to-state relations develop in a sustained and harmonious way, and that strengthening youth exchanges and cooperation is conducive to promoting the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. As one of the seven China-Japan friendship organizations, the JCEA strives to boost economic and trade exchanges between the two countries and has made unremitting efforts to deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

Yoshiko stressed that the JCEA attaches great importance to cooperation with the CIYEC, and said she hopes that the two sides will tap the potential of youth exchanges and inject greater impetus into bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on jointly hosting the China-Japan Economic and trade Cooperation fair.
