The China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) and the Tokyo Junior Chamber (Tokyo JC) co-organized an online meeting on Jan 25 to explore using bilateral communication channels on a regular basis to advance pandemic prevention and control and to exchange views on further deepening future pragmatic cooperation between Chinese and Japanese young entrepreneurs.

Wang Yijun, Party Secretary of the CIYEC, underlined that in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic the Chinese and Japanese people have supported each other and worked together to overcome difficulties.

The two peoples have witnessed the growth of close ties between the two countries and China-Japan economic and trade cooperation against downtrends in the global economy, showing the strong resilience and huge potential of win-win cooperation, Wang added.

Wang indicated that regular pandemic prevention and control has given birth to new economic models and also shown that digital economy and network economy can lead future economic development.

He hoped that young entrepreneurs of China and Japan will keep up with the trends of the times and strengthen exchanges as they forge ahead in an innovative and enterprising spirit in the face of new opportunities and challenges in the world economy.

Wang also expressed his hope that the two sides will join hands to build a new economic highland in East Asia and promote the integrated development of an online economy and offline economic models.

The President of the Tokyo JC said that his organization and the CIYEC have jointly launched a series of friendly cooperation projects for a long time and play a positive role in promoting friendly exchanges between the youth of Japan and China.

He noted that although the COVID-19 pandemic has become a huge stumbling-block in the exchanges of the international community, solidarity is unbeatable. He said that the two sides should make more efforts to deepen cooperation in this critical period.

Other leaders of the Tokyo JC also shared their views on how to implement the new model of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the post-pandemic era, and expressed the desire to strengthen the friendly relationship between Japan and China.
