"Hi, We're Here": International Youth Send Greetings Supporting China

Updated: 2020-02-25

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across the globe, the Chinese people have worked together to face the severe test brought by the deadly virus, and have heightened efforts to safeguard their national safety and curb the spread of the pandemic, contributing to global public health security.

The international community spoke highly of China's actions in the COVID-19 combat and the sense of responsibility it has shown in the world-wide anti-pandemic fight. At these critical moments international friends of the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) sent their greetings to the Chinese people.

"Humans live in a community with a shared future, and human beings will definitely not be defeated by a virus," said Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister of France, in his video greetings to the CIYEC, adding that if everyone works together to fight the pandemic, the fight against the COVID-19 virus is bound to succeed.

In addition, messages from Itai Manyere, President of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Wang Xiaoting, Head of the Youth League of the Malaysian Chinese Association, Merethe Borge MacLeod, Executive Director of the Great Britain-China Center (GBCC), and Ahad Mohammadi, Chairman of the Iran-China Friendship Association (ICFA), poured into the CIYEC, cheering for China and extending regards to Chinese youth.

Ahad Mohammadi, Chairman of the ICFA, sent a bilingual letter of greeting to the CIYEC.

In his message, Mohammadi expressed the belief that the Chinese people and government are very capable of overcoming this challenge and those who have been diagnosed will soon be cured.

The CIYEC has always been committed to promoting mutual understanding, exchanges and cooperation between youth in China and across the world, accelerating international cooperation in education, environmental protection, culture and other youth friendship programs, and enhancing the building of a community with a shared future for mankind from the perspective of youth.

The center undertakes a number of international youth exchange programs at the level of heads of state, and maintains long-term, stable and friendly relations with more than 50 foreign organizations.

Each year, it receives thousands of foreign youth for exchanges, visits and negotiations, and sends nearly one thousand Chinese youth representatives to visit countries around the world, bridging any communication gap between international youth.
