The Mitsubishi Electric China Youth Environmental Promotion Activity and Annual Environmental Protection Forum and Environmental Awards Ceremony 2019 was successfully held on October 11, 2019 in Beijing. The activity was jointly held by the China International Youth Exchange Center (CIYEC) and Japanese electronics manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric Corp..

More than 200 journalists as well as volunteers from Peking University, Tsinghua University, China University of Mining and Technology and Capital Normal University gathered together to discuss topics such as corporate social responsibility and Chinese youth environmental education.

With themes of "creating a low-carbon society and recycling society", "maintaining public health safety", "biodiversity" and "intelligent manufacturing, green manufacturing", the activity aimed to collect environmental protection projects raised by youth and youth groups aged 18-45.

More than 200 excellent application materials were received and 13 outstanding projects were finally selected after rigorous evaluation.

The event included special lectures, forums and field lessons, all aimed at spreading environmental protection education widely and deeply to young people in a combination of theory and practice, so as to arouse their attention to environmental protection.

Mitsubishi Electric Corp. has been committed to solving environmental problems for a long time by carrying out corporate social contribution activities and making efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company said it also hopes that all the university volunteers will carry on their in-depth discussions on green manufacturing and environmental and social responsibility.

A representative from the Japanese embassy in China said that the activity provided a good platform for the youth of the two countries to actively participate in construction of a low-carbon circular society and to further biodiversity conservation.
